This story is about a little boy, Ahmed, who lives with a traveling circus. I thought that sounded like fun, until I found out about cruel Madame Saleem, who runs the circus. She makes Ahmed work hard, all day long. He is sad until he finds a golden egg in the forest, and makes a mysterious new friend. 

I think this book is very dreamy and magical and I love looking at all the animals and people in the illustrations. They make me want to draw a picture, too!
