Cool and Easy Popsicles

Did reading “Puddle of Green” in this month’s issue of Ladybug make you want to go grab your own Popsicle? Here are some fun twists on the frozen treat that are easy to make. For these recipes, all you need are wooden popsicle sticks and paper or plastic cups as molds.

 


Purple People Eater Popsicles
1 can frozen grape juice concentrate, thawed and undiluted
1 1/2 cup gingerale
1/2 cup seedless purple grapes, sliced

Stir together juice concentrate, gingerale, and grapes. Spoon evenly into paper or plastic cups. Freeze 30 minutes until firm, then insert wooden sticks and freeze 5 hours.

Snowy Kiwi Popsicles
1 1/2-2 cups sliced kiwi
1 cup apple juice
3-5 tablespoons sugar
Powdered sugar

Stir together all ingredients except powdered sugar. Spoon mixture into paper or plastic cups, insert wooden sticks and freeze for 3-4 hours. Before serving, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Banana Chocolate Crunch Popsicles
1 banana
chocolate syrup
chopped nuts or granola

Peel banana, place stick in one end. Dip banana in chocolate syrup and roll in nuts or granola. Freeze for 2-3 hours.
