Horsey Bookmark

Make your own swishy horse-tail bookmark!

What You'll Need:

  • Scissors
  • Yarn, twine, or ribbon
  • Crayons or markers
  • Glue

What to do:

  1. Color in your horse.
  2. Glue the backside of your bookpark to a lightweight cardboard. (Cardboard from a cereal box works well.)
  3. With your scissors, cut around the outside black line. With the help of a parent, cut out the two gray half circles.
  4. To make the horse's tail, wrap yarn around the entire bookmark several times.
  5. One one end, thread a small, separate piece of yarn through the wrapped yarn and tie. (This will help hold your pieces of yarn together.)
  6. Snip the opposite ends of the wrapped yarn.
  7. Thread your yarn through the bottom hole and back out the top hole for a tail, looping around the center bar.
  8. Tie a bow around your tail with another small piece of yarn, to hold the tail in place.
